Q: What's on the Audio CD?
A: The sounds of NASCAR Racing, digitally recorded, live, at various race tracks along the East Coast. (approx 60 minutes)
Long clips from Daytona, Bristol, Richmond, Dover, and Pocono
This is it! A CD containing longer clips from what you heard on our main page -- nearly 60 minutes from the best of my collection spanning several years.
A good portion of the CD contains sounds of race cars during practice sessions with very little background 'noise' such as loud-speaker jabber jaw junk broadcast into the air on race day. Of course, race day jabber jaw coverage is copyrighted material; therefor, we felt we needed to keep within all applicable copyrighted material laws by cutting short any race day coverage clip where the sounds of live broadcast coverage could be heard in the background. The end result is one impressive CD containing the Sounds of NASCAR racing - the on-track activities that you would hear as if "Live" at the race track!
The CD starts off with 'the Daytona experience'. Several "cup" practice session clips from earlier in "speed weeks," leading up to the Dayatona 500 -- as if you were there live at the track, hanging out, waiting for Sunday's race. Includes a few 5+ minute long clips (nearly a full 30 minutes of Daytona).
Dover is impressive, includes a 10 minute clip that will daze you -- wear headphones if you got them.
Pocono's selection is interesting, a few clips from Turn 1 near the end of Pit road. Not many ever get to hear all 43 cars pulling out onto the track for the first time, playing catch-up to reach the pace car. We also loaded on a 10 minute recording from approx 1 mile away... a nice gentle clip to play at night while trying to sleep.
Bristol, well, just a little too loud and overloaded the mics (a little fuzzy) but we stuffed a 4 minute clip in just as the "cup" cars were going green. It's still worth hearing, it's Bristol.
And Richmond, 2 1/2 minutes along the front stretch.
